Hot Air: Big Talk, Et Cetera

A shortie today, because I’m busy.

Big Talk Thursday

My guest tonight on Big Talk will be Adria Nassim, Bloomington’s maven of autism. We’ll learn a little bit about what it was like growing up on the spectrum. BTW, Adria’s service dog, Lu, will be in the studio with us. Lu’ll sign off for the show as only a pooch can.

Big Talk is a Feature of WFHB News and appears every Thursday on the Daily Local News at 5:30pm. The feature usually begins sometime around 5:45, so don’t be late. And, if perchance you miss the show (tsk), you can always catch it online on the WFHB News/Features page.

Adria & Lu

Big Talks the last couple of weeks have included Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Tom French and 2016 Democratic National Convention delegate Cathi Crabtree. Next week, be on the lookout for Jason Fickel and Ginger Curry, guitar strummer and canary extraordinaires.

See you tonight, babies.

Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner

We all know political discourse these days has become more polarized than at any time in recent history. Well, Eitan Hersch on Nate Silver’s fivethirtyeight blog compares the political divide to that between — get this — the vicious rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

The poll question is posed: Would you be unhappy if your son or daughter married a member or fan of the opposing party or team? The results tell us something about how we view “the enemy” — any “enemy.”

That’s all. Now lemme go write a couple of stories for which I’m up against deadlines, wouldya?
